Chris Stanwick, UIP Congressional Candidate in Alaska

Greetings, Alaska! I am Chris Stanwick, United States Deputy Secretary of State, Internal Communications Coordinator of the United Independents Party and the current Senator for your great state. I look forward to meeting each resident of Alaska and enjoy representing each of you in Congress. I promise to continue working hard for Alaska during my tenure, bringing to the state much needed attention. For too long, Alaska has been "that place in the frozen wilderness," but no longer. I will ensure that Alaska gets the attention it deserves.

Personally, I am 27 years old and self employed in the oil industry. I have degrees in business administration, history, political science journalism, and a doctorate in international relations. I have maximized my presence both in the game and in the forums and will serve the interests of Alaska at least ten hours every day.

Platform:
Taxes: I support free trade with our allies. To achieve this goal, we must continue to lower our import taxes and encourage our allies to do the same. The cheaper goods brought about by free trade are beneficial to each of us in America. Cheaper food allows us to keep a larger portion of our daily pay. Cheaper weapons allow us to fight longer for less money. Cheaper moving tickets allow us to move across the country to better hospitals for a lower rate. Cheaper houses enable us to maximize our wellness for the lowest price available. Cheaper goods are what is best for this nation.

Foreign Affairs: Last month, I was appointed the UnderSecretary of State for Developing Regions, and worked closely with several economically disadvantaged nations to improve their economies. As Senator, I expanded on this work as a member of the Foreign Relations Advisory Committee, collecting information and advising my fellow Congressmen about important foreign policy situations. In the new Harrison Richardson administration, I have been promoted in the State Department to the second highest position, Deputy Secretary of State. I will continue to work with developing nations to help alleviate the worldwide economic downturn that is harming our comapanies.

I will also closely monitor the development of Fortis and its implementation over the next few weeks, making suggestions when needed and questioning reasonings when required. A multinational alliance will aid us in reaching a free trade economy with our allies. Fortis will also provide us with maximum protection from any potetnial enemies in the New World.

War Games: I support the continuation of our war games with Ireland. They are beneficial to each and every one of our country's citizens because they give us battle practice, while increasing our experience. As we grow stronger as a nation, we will need a well-trained, experienced army to combat against our enemies. The war games offer us this army. Also, I remind each citizen to train everyday to increase your strength for the battles ahead and to participate in the war games to take advantage of the hospitals.

Infrastructure: We have placed another Q5 hospital in America, leaving only one in reserve. The American Health Foundation is raising donations for another Q5 hospital to place in our nation in the upcoming months. I support this organization and have made a substantial contribution of my own. We in Alaska are lucky to have a Q3 hospital, for most of the nation has ones of lower quality or none at all. Although I will campaign for a better hospital in Alaska, even if we do not receive one, we will survive.

Disclosure: As I have during my current term, I will continue to keep the citizens of Alaska informed of my actions and the actions of Congress in regular newspaper postings, as well as on my website. I believe in disclosure and promise to make my decisions clear to my constituency. I will also use public opinion polls to find out what you, as citizens of Alaska, think about various issues.

Citizen Retention: Retaining new citizens is a major challenge in the New World. In an effort to reduce that challenge, I have proposed and seen implemented a new citizen welcome message that directs all of our new citizens to the Welcoming Committee board on the US forum, which I have extensively edited to only include information that will help our newcomers in their first few weeks. I will continue to work with others to find new ways to encourage retention amongst our new citizens. The newly reopened North American University is one method, of which I will be participating in as the Professor of eRepublik Economics 101 starting this semester.
